Gutter maintenance

As spring is upon us now is a good time to think about rainwater goods maintenance. Commonly during the winter months, moss, leaves, and debris will build up in gutters and cause blockages from the damp environment of lower light levels and higher rainfall. These blockages can lead to overflowing of the gutters and lead in some cases to dampness defects to the internal parts of the property.

Maintenance of the rainwater goods should be undertaken on an annual basis and is generally relatively low cost maintenance. If poor maintenance accumulates over years, repairs to the affected surrounding parts of the building can be costly as in some cases, defects can be widespread.

Gutters should be regularly monitored for signs of blockages.
